Thank you Ron Haddad…
TORRANCE, CA. | MAY 9, 2014 – The Dumbell Man’s own Ron Haddad celebrated his 80th birthday today. The day also marked Ron’s sixty five years of service in the health and fitness industry. The Dumbell Man staff was treated to a few of Ron’s favorite stories of a career defined by humility and professionalism.
It all started in 1949 when Ron’s began working with Bert Goodrich (the first Mr. America) at his gym in Hollywood. After serving four years in the Air Force Ron started work at the Vic Tanny Gyms, serving as a trainer and manager. During the 1960’s Ron continued as a manger and trainer at the International Health Club in Los Angeles where many athletes and celebrities trained. Ron shared a story of helping a guest with a workout one afternoon; his name was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
During this time Ron became known as “The Music Master of Muscle Beach” when he pioneered using the art of body building and music. Ron provided posing sound tracks for the biggest names in Venice Beach; Dave Draper, Frank Zane, Franco Colombo and Arnold Schwarzenegger. After a neck injury cut his own career short Ron applied his fitness knowledge in a new field, commercial exercise equipment sales.
Nothing teaches like experience and since 1983 Ron Haddad has worked with clients from a variety of markets; from hotels, multi-family developers and health clubs to personal trainers, active adult communities and employee wellness facilities. When he’s not at his desk you might find Ron visiting old friends from “Gold’s Gym” or helping his church with a local charity. Thank you to Ron Haddad for his 65 years of service to health and wellness, and helping make our business make a difference.
